Assisted Living in a Neighborhood Atmosphere

Of all the benefits that make Quarry Hill truly outstanding, perhaps the most important is our ability to offer you a full continuum of care. Higher levels of care, including Assisted Living and nursing home care, are available at the Inn.

Each Assisted Living suite, whether one-bedroom or efficiency, has its own kitchenette and bath. To create a true feeling of neighborhood, these private residences have been clustered around spacious social areas, including a country kitchen that's especially popular for visiting with neighbors and sharing favorite recipes. There's also a warm and welcoming dining room and a garden terrace just right for tea or lemonade with friends.

Assisted Living Levels of Care

At Quarry Hill's Anderson Inn, the Assisted Living and Courtyard programs offer three levels of care based on an individual's interests, capabilities and needs. Residents will only pay for the level of service they need and want. Those requiring lower levels of care will pay a lower monthly fee, while those who require more care will pay a higher fee. Periodic assessments are made of each resident and should an individual's needs increase, the monthly fee will rise accordingly.

  • Level 1
    Criteria: Requires supervision and/or minimal assistance (cueing, oversight or encouragement) with two or fewer of the following:
    • Bathing and dressing
    • Ambulation and transferring
    • Toileting
    • Feeding
    • Assistance with medication administration
  • Level 2
    Criteria: Requires minimal assistance or encouragement with three or more of the items listed above in Level 1.
  • Level 3
    Criteria: Requires extensive assistance or encouragement with one or more of the items listed above in Level 1 (nursing home eligible).

The Courtyard

In the Courtyard at the Inn, we offer our special Assisted Living program for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of memory loss. Its private and safe surroundings are enhanced by a specially designed, enclosed garden in which residents may stroll to their hearts' content, or simply sit in the sunshine and listen to the birds. Respect, compassion, and true old-fashioned kindness are the guiding values of the round-the-clock staff.

Assisted Living services include three meals daily, an enriched activities program, weekly housekeeping and laundry service, nursing care, help with daily life, and medication assistance, as needed.

Courtyard Program (Alzheimer's Care) Levels of Care

  • Level 1
    Criteria: Same as Assisted Living Level 1 plus assistance with behavior management, including cueing, redirecting and minimal one-on-one (Alzheimer's care only)
  • Level 2
    Criteria: Same as Assisted Living Level 2 plus limited assistance with behavior management, including physical directing/guarding for redirecting, refocusing, de-escalation and one-on-one.
  • Level 3
    Criteria: Same as Assisted Living Level 3 plus extensive assistance with behavior management due to socially inappropriate behavior - i.e., verbal/physical abuse, resistive to care or actions that pose or imply a danger to self or others requiring extensive one-on-one for de-escalation.
